GENERAL:
The procedures performed at HUMANOLOGIE HEALTH & WELLNESS do not require significant changes to your lifestyle or routines prior to treatment.
For best results, we recommend you follow these guidelines prior to your procedure. If you have any questions, please contact us through the portal.
UNIVERSAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Be mindful of the contraindications to treatments (listed in consent forms).
Avoid using harsh or active skincare products 5 to 7 days prior to your treatment (exfoliants, retinoids/tretinoin, etc.). Do not mechanically exfoliate. Vitamin C is okay. Wear sunscreen.
No dental visits or invasive medical procedures two weeks prior to treatment (else your risk of infection rises significantly).
If possible, abstain from medications and supplements that can increase your likelihood of bleeding and bruising, such as garlic, omega 3, aspirin, and Advil (NSAIDs).
Do not drink coffee/caffeine on the day of your procedure (this can reduce your chance of bruising and bleeding).
If you are prone to breakouts of cold sores (herpes), you may wish to take prophylactic treatment as stress/tissue trauma can reactivate dormant infections.
Avoid direct or overly long sun exposure in areas set to be treated.
Never use a tanning bed (PERIOD) but especially not within a week of a skin treatment.
Avoid other treatments such as lasers and chemical peels prior to treatment.
Be mindful of when you are scheduling your appointment--bruising and swelling and other side effects are common and they can last more than a week in some cases. Try to give yourself enough time as possible to make sure you are fully healed by the event.
NEUROMODULATORS
Wait at least 3 months between treatments.
If you need your neuromodulator to be working by a certain date (such as a wedding), book at minimum 2 weeks prior to it. If you've never had neuromodulators before, book at the very least a month before.
HYALURONIC ACID DERMAL FILLER
If you need your filler to be healed by a certain date (such as a wedding), book at minimum 6 weeks prior to the event.
SCULPTRA
Avoid the use of anti-inflammatory medications prior to treatments. Sculptra provokes a subclinical inflammatory response to stimulate the creation of collagen and elastin. We want your immune system to be responsive.
MICRONEEDLING
If you need your skin to have recovered by a certain date, 2 weeks is usually more than long enough.
CRYOPROBE
While the procedure is quick, it can take up to a full month for the tissue to fully heal and may take even longer still. Be mindful of this if you have an event coming up and the area being treated is visible.
WELLNESS TREATMENTS
Do not take additional vitamin supplements the morning of.
