WHAT IS THE TORO?
Toro is a highly advanced non-ablative laser that can treat a number of skin concerns. It operates in three wavelengths and has four pulse modes that allow it to treat everything from skin texture, scarring, pigmentation, collagen loss, and even tattoo removal. The customization allows us to treat all skin types and provide safe treatments year-round. The treatment is only mildly uncomfortable and made better with numbing (if desired) and a cooling Zimmer.
WHAT CAN IT TREAT?
Oh the list is endless! All colours of tattoo removal, benign pigmented lesions, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, dermal pigment, skin tone and texture, acne scarring, post inflammatory erythema, ghosting/residual ink from previous tattoo removals, collagen loss, congested skin, and more.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?
Even with relatively intense treatments, the downtime can range from none to the presence of tenderness, redness, and swelling for a few days. Most people are able to engage socially immediately after the treatment.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS?
There are a variety of factors that affect the risks. The Toro is incredible because we can customize it to treat any patient safely (including patients with melasma!) and minimize the risk profile, however there are always risks involved with medical interventions. Redness, swelling, and discomfort are likely to occur after treatment. Even though the laser is non-ablative, patients do occasionally blister in the cases of particularly dark/reactive pigment. Additionally, hyper and hypo pigmentation are always possible despite attempts to minimize.
